Introducing the data receiving page

Getting Started

This page contains a list of data items that the current endpoint is receiving from the target endpoint through the current connection. The names for the said endpoints and connection are shown inside the dark bar under the main menu.

There are two phases in a data transfer in V-NET:

  • The first one is triggered from the sending endpoint, namely the target endpoint. A progress panel will appear during the first phase. The data is not transferred in this phase, only a set of very small hash values for the data are sent.
  • The second one is triggered on the current endpoint. A progress panel will also appear on both endpoints involved during the progression of this phase. If the current endpoint is an APP or desktop program, the user can choose whether or not to receive data automatically for data items sent over the same connection. The setting can be done either on the corresponding connection inside connections page or inside this page.

The file information is loaded into the target endpoint the first time an file item is sent. However, such information is lost whenever the target endpoint is reloaded, refreshed or re-booted, It then becomes not ready to be received without reloading. When a file is not ready, the reload button will appear.

Try to click the reload button, it triggers an auto-reload inside the target endpoint if the target endpoint is an APP or desktop program. However the auto-reload will not happen if the target endpoint is a browser. In the later case, one has to go back to the target endpoint to reload it manually.

A user can also goggle the auto-receiving state the current connection here using the corresponding button or , depending upon the current state.
